This is my first walk of the week since I finally got my test results for covid (they were negative yayy).

Since I was quarantined for so long I decided to take a really long walk to make up for all the time I missed. So I started my walk from home to forest preserve. Which took me about 30 minutes. It was raining a little bit which made my walk even better. I grabbed my umbrella, I put on my headphones and went on my way.

I decided to take a shortcut through the woods. Water is hitting the leaves then sliding down and hitting my head. I could smell the wet soil, which reminds me of my home in Mexico, my childhood and my best memories. I’m drawn to the thought that this little path brings so much joy to me, and so many people are walking by, but no one seems to appreciate this moment as much as me.

Experience collection:

1:23 — I had to cross a bridge but I am afraid of heights and bridges. Specially because I can’t really swim and I feel like bridges are not safe to walk in.

2:30 — By the time I got home, it started kind of storming and it got really windy, although it was freezing I loved that it started raining. When I used to live in mexico a lot of my friends were lower income and their way of having fun was playing in the water or in the rain so I definitely love rainy days. (I took this pic from the inside of my house. The tree did not fall because of the storm, it has been there for a while.)

Object Collection:

1:50 — While on my walk back home. I helped an old lady so that she would get wet or sick. To pay me for my help she told me I could take flowers from the front of her house and I could never deny flowers specially seeing how she was so excited when talking about her flowers. (They got ruined becuase of the rain so I do not have a picture).

To lose one self in the city means to become so involved with everything that is going on around you that you dont actually pay attention to where you are going, you just keep walking admiring whichever landscape it is you are looking at and never stop to think if you are even going the right way. I have never really lost myself in this type of way but I go on a lot of walk and plans to visit new places soon so I probably will sometimes in the future.
