1) Krygier and Wood define maps as propositions. They show and affirm the existence and location of places that are and were there. Maps worships the fact that certain places exist. Each map contain specific details with different propositions for someone else to see. It shows small detail while also showing the bigger things in a city or a public space in general.

2) My understanding of Chicago did noy change much after viewing the pictures. Most of the pictures shows the differences between the north and the south. There is a a great difference that can be observed in the pictures such as the architecture, the cleanliness of the streets, the way in which the intersections are organized, and such but I grew up in the south and today the areas in which I grew up now look like the areas in the north side of Chicago. So I believe that eventually the stratification between the north and south side will one day change.

3) Krygier and wood mentioned that we use maps to show the existence of things such as places. They guide us through these places and broaden our understanding of the places in which we interact by showing important aspects of a city.(207)

Brainstorming:

I have lived in my neighborhood for 5 years. Me and my family moved here from Mexico for a better education and better health care (while we all complain about health care in the United States, I appreciate since its better than in Mexico). In my neighborhood the vibe is always sketchy. My back door neighbor is in the sexual predator list and yet we live close to a school, I got my car stolen and the police did not do anything. I am afraid of leaving my house because what if someone breaks in when I am away. I believe this is an issue in my neighborhood because we lack unity, encouragement to do well, we also lack help for government such as there is no cops ever in my neighborhood so there is no sense of safety. When we first moved here we picked this house because it was the only one available and we needed a place to live fast. I hope in the future my neighborhood will get more funding to help groom the children into good people, I think maybe volunteer opportunities will help teach these kids that there is a way to earn a living other than stealing.(204)
